Today was another pretty day so we decided to go to the park for a picnic. After we had eaten lunch the girls went to play with me close by. Josey is trying to climb up the equipment so I help her so she can slide. Riley decides she wants to play on the merry-go-round. I put both girls on and we go really slow. This little boy comes up and wants on (he is about three maybe four - he could not talk very well), so I let him on and he wants to go fast. I have to explain to him that we can't go fast because Josey is too little to go fast. He decides he wants off. Fine with me. Then we head to the swings. I put Josey in the baby swing and Riley in the swing next to her so I can push them both at the same time. The little boy follows up to the swings and wants me to push him as well. I told him he should ask his mom if she would push him since I was pushing both of my girls. So he starts yelling at his mom which I respond with "Why don't you go over to her and ask". He goes to talk to his mom and comes back almost in tears. He informed me that she said no. I told him that I was sorry, but I could not do it right now. Riley decided she was done swinging and he quickly jumped onto her swing. So I had no choice, but to swing him. I am really feeling sorry for him at this time since his mom is just sitting at a table talking with some friends. Josey then decides she is done swinging and we go to the seesaws. He wants to seesaw too, but once again only two person thing. So he gets on the one next to me (which is broken) and makes is go over and hit Riley. I ask him to stop and he does not. He continues to use it to try to push Riley off. I let Riley down and I put my finger in his face and inform him that he does not behave that way. I tell Riley that we have to go.
His mother does nothing. I was so frustrated. Why take your kid to the park if you are unwilling to play with them. So, a little boy who has a neglectful mother made us have to leave the park.

Poor little boy but how frustrating for you. I am sorry that your trip had to end that way. I am just glad that Riley didn't get hurt on the seesaw. Those things can be dangerous, right Shawn.
that's the type of mom that won't pay attention to her kid, but then if anyone tries to make her kid behave, she goes balistic...glad you didn't get shot for telling him to quit.
